When is the visit?

Where can I access BMCC’s accreditation report?

What meetings do I need to attend during the visit?

BMCC’s accreditor, NWCCU, requires the College to offer forums with the Evaluation Team based on employee classification (faculty, classified staff, and exempt tech), including the Board of Education (students will have their own forum). The Evaluation Team will also request meetings with specific functional areas of the College.

If you are in a member of a functional area of the College the Evaluation Team wishes to meet with, you will receive an Outlook invitation. For the forums required by NWCCU, there will be announcements made across campus, and when possible, calendar invites will also be sent.

What happens after the visit?

Blue Mountain Community College is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). As part of the seven-year accreditation process NWCCU representatives will visit the college October 17-19, 2022. Details concerning the visit will be shared with the BMCC community in September and October 2022.

The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) reaffirmed Blue Mountain Community College’s (BMCC) accreditation status, following an extensive review that concluded in June 2015.

The college is approved by both the State and Federal Veteran’s Administration to offer education and training under the various public laws pertaining to financial aid to veterans.

Accreditation is a process that allows a college to examine its practices, policies, and services, thereby determining how successfully it fulfills its mission and goals. The process evolves over several stages of self-study, with each stage culminating in a report (1-year, 3-year, 5-year, and 7-year) for review by peer evaluators representing the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Collectively, these reports address the ways in which the college meets the NWCCU Accreditation Standards and Policies.

Program Accreditation

Programs at the college are approved by the Oregon Department of Education, to offer education and training under the various public laws pertaining to financial assistance to veterans.

A.A.S. Nursing program: fully approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Certificate Emergency Medical Technician program: courses are accredited by the Oregon Department of Education.
